An Extraordinary Breath

"An Extraordinary Breath" is what our yoga instructor called the deep inhale and extended exhale that accompanied the flowing movements during this morning's Ashtanga style class that I attended at Centered City Yoga.

I continue to explore personal boundaries by letting go of what I think my body can do when I step onto my yoga mat. My practice is much different than the other types of physical things that I do. It is about the unknown. I don't know how to move my body in this way. I don't know how to let go of those thoughts that keep swirling in my mind. With each extraordinary breath...I learn something new...I find a new place in me.

The space in my favorite yoga studio is a sacred place for me. I love seeing the smiling, flushed faces as we close our practice with "Namaste" and then slowly make our way...back out into the world, replenished, renewed, and yes a bit more "in body".

Sharing the Journey

Today is the first day of my commitment to share with you - on a daily basis - my own journey towards optimal well-being. I believe that self-observation is an essential practice for personal growth. Sharing these self-insights with you, connects me to the bigger conversation about what's possible for the well-being of our community.

I look forward to sharing this adventure with each of you, and invite you to share your own insights by commenting on this blog.

Welcome to an ongoing conversation about what well-being means to us!
